    1. Permits (most municipalities require them)
    2. Excavation (swimming pools must be put on flat, level ground)
    3. Installation (the actual building of the pool)
    4. Water (to hang the liner quickly and easily)
    5. Electrical (pool equipment cannot be run on extension cords, a properly installed GFCI protected outlet is required)
  2. If you choose to build the pool yourself, you are responsible for all of the above.  If you use a pool installer, you must get the permits, contact an excavator and an electrician.
  3. A pool installer will only do what they are contracted to perform.  Any additional items required must be written on the contract UP FRONT, or they will not be performed.
  4. Here is a list of tasks that are usually considered extras

    2. Plumbing heater with gas line and PVC

    4. Installing drop steps
    5. Building the solar reel
    6. Installing any chemical dispensers
    7. Backfilling or landscaping to any degree
    8. Anything not written in your  initial contract!
  5. Pool Park, Inc.  is here to help you through the process, but we cannot foresee every possible situation that may occur in each particular pool installation.  A variety of contactors may be needed to complete all tasks.  Contact us and we will guide you to the right contractor for the right job.
  6. After the pool is up and running we encourage you to bring us a water sample and we will test it for you.  Also, any maintenance questions can be answered at that time.

Winterizing Your Chlorine or Nature 2 Pool

  1. Backwash if needed and run the filter throughout the closing process.
  2. After pH(7.2 - 7.8) and Alkalinity (80-150ppm) are balanced, it is a good idea to shock the pool with 2 gallons of liquid chlorine per 10,000 gallons of water, especially if you have green tinged water.
  3. Complete houskeeping on your pool, making sure it is free of debris and algae growth.  If there is a waterline stain on the liner, clean it now with Baquacil Surface Cleaner.
  4. From the Relax Winter Kit, apply Stain & Scale Preventative, and Algaecide, According to label directions.
  5. Punch out bottom holes on all sides of the included floater and place in pool.
  6. Let the filter circulate the water for half a day, and consider using Baquacil Filter Cleaner if you have a sand filter.  This helps Break down and debris in the tank that may harden over winter.
  7. Drain pool about 6" below the return fitting.  If you have the nature 2 Express unit, take it off to preven freeze damage.  Also trmove skimmer parts such as weir doors, covers and baskets.  Take off hoses and make sure the return and skimmer are poen to allow drainage.
  8. Carefully follow the manufacturers directions for winterizing your filter.  If it is not possible to move your filter indoors, Drain the tank completely, and take the pump indoors.  Be aware that tank drains can get clogged and will not completely drain the water, resulting in costly freeze damage.
  9. Make sure the pool liner is not leaking.  Leaks must be repaired prior to winterizing or serious freeze damage can occur to the liner, wall and frame of your pool.  If any leaks are patched, monitor the water level for several days before closing your pool.
  10. Install the winter cover properly.  Do not hang jugs or anything else from the cover.  If you have problems with the cover blowing off, consider using our Cover Loc System.  Lasly, Make equipment repair now to avoid the spring rush!

Hot Tub Start-Up / Maintenance Steps w/ Bromine Tablets

  1. Initial Start Up
    1. Re-establish flow inside of spa.
    2. Add 1 oz. Rust & Scale.
    3. Add 1/2 capful of Bromine granules.
    4. Fill floater with Bromine tablets, set half open and put in spa.
    5. add 1/2 capful of Renew shock.
    6. After hot, test pH and adjust to between 7.2-7.8.  Use 2 capfuls of pH Rise or pH Lower.
    7. Over the course of the first few days, test for pH to make sure it is in proper rangew (sometimes it resists change with new water).
  2. Weekly Maintenance
    1. Test the pH on a weekly basis, adjusting if necessary.
    2. Check the filter(s), rinse off if there is discoloration or build-up.  NOTE:  ALWAYS TURN OFF POWER BEFORE REMOVING FILTER(S)!
    3. After each use, add 1/2 capful of Renew Shock.
    4. Make sure Bromine tablets are not completely gone.  Refill floater as needed..
  3. 3-4 Month Maintenance
    1. Consider draining and refilling the spa, use your judgment.
    2. Chemically soak the filter(s) in Filter Cleaner or Muriatic Acid (4 to 1 water to acid ratio).  NOTE:  ALWAYS TURN OFF POWER BEFORE REMOVING FILTER(S)!
  4. Yearly Maintenance
    1. Consider replacing the filter(s).
    2. Consider re-staining the cabinet, per manufacturer's recommendations.
  5. Other Chemicals
(These are used on a remedial basis.)
    1. FOAM GONE - Use when the water has "bubble bath" foam.  It will disperse the foam, but not take care of the problem causing it.  Use Renew shock after Foam Gone is administered and test the water.
    2. SPARKLE - Use when the spa is cloudy.  Sparkle coagulates particles in the spa, allowing the filter to trap them.
    3. BROMINE GRANULES - This product is the quickest way to correct a problem in the water that is cloudy or has odor.  This chemical is a corrosive oxidant, killing anything in its path.  Our system is designed to limit its use.

Chlorine

Chlorine levels vary widely throughout the day and may require daily additions. Even with these daily additions, bacteria levels fluctuate greatly.
BAQUACIL ®

BAQUACIL ® offers consistent, long-lasting protection. With just one application, bacteria levels are controlled for as long as 10-14 days.

How easy is BAQUACIL®?
Easy as 1,2,3
  • Check water balance weekly; add baquacil if needed.
  • Add a maintenance dose of Baqua Check 50 once a week.
  • Once a month, add a maintenance dose of Baqua Shock.
Test. Pour. Swim.
Even though BAQUACIL ® provides effective, consistent bacteria control for as long as 10-14 days, it's still a good idea to test your pool's water once a week, if only to monitor the water balance. Incorrect water balance is the "culprit" that can discolor and corrode your pool equipment over time. Plus, every sanitizing system works more effectively when the water's in balance.

Converting your pool to BAQUACIL®.
No drain. No strain.

Switching to
BAQUACIL ® starts with removing the chlorine from your pool's water. Relax. We have a product for that. So there's no need to drain your pool. In fact, the whole process usually takes 24 hours or less.

Consult Pool Park, your nearest Local Authorized BAQUACIL ® Dealer  we're pool professionals who know how to help you enjoy swimming the way it was meant to be  chlorine-free.
